What would have to be true

I am considering this: <idea> [THE IDEA] </idea> Do not tell me whether it is a good idea. Instead: 1. List what would have to be TRUE for this to work โ the conditions, not the benefits. 2. Sort them: which are already true, which are probably true, which are unknown, which are probably false. 3. For each unknown, name the cheapest way to find out. 4. Name the one assumption that, if false, sinks the whole thing. Be concrete. "The market must want it" is not a condition; "somebody must be paying for a worse version of this today" is.
What it is for
Inverts the usual "is this a good idea" question, which invites agreement. Asking what must hold turns an opinion into a list of things you can go and check.
